Find your depth
Depth only says whether skin is light or deep, never what color it is. Compare along the jaw and the neck, in daylight, never on the back of your hand.
Two ways in: start from the shade you already wear, or start from your skin.
Give us the brand, the line and the code printed on the bottle. We look for the closest one in our range, and we name the gap that remains.
No match between two brands is exact. Coverage, finish and oxidation shift the result on skin.

The undertone is the color that shows through the skin. Here, golden means warm and pink means cool, with no exception. Some brands write it the other way round, and that is where most shade mistakes come from.
Look at the veins inside your wrist, in daylight: bluish, you are on the cool side; greenish, on the warm side.
A cushion darkens a little once applied, a BB cream lets your own skin through, a matte foundation covers more and forgives a shade mistake less. Texture is chosen before color.
A dot on a screen proves nothing, calibration changes everything from one screen to the next. So every shade carries its code, its depth written out in full and its undertone in words.
